Coconut Inlaid Pendant on Horn and Bakelite Chain

This dramatic pendant from Tahiti features a very large lacquered black coconut pendant with bamboo inlay. The hard shell is often used for firewood in Asian countries as well as for carvings, buttons and jewelry components. Extremely durable and easily worn on a daily basis.  It is suspended from black horn rectangles with bakelite and onyx beads. The vintage clasp is black onyx and sterling silver.  You'll get noticed in this piece.
