Hand Painted Portrait of Lady with Fan by Klimt Sterling Necklace

Product Description

This hand-painted reproduction of Gustave Klimt's "Lady With a Fan," is one of his last paintings after his famous gold period. At that time Japanese art had a big influence in Europe. Klimt was just one of many artists who painted in this style. The lady, the fan and the gesture are reminiscent of Japanese geisha paintings. It features a slender beautiful woman with a seductive body, bare shoulders, looking ahead and holding a fan elegantly to her chest. The yellow background is strewn with figures of flowers, birds and other florid designs.

Unlike most Russian hand-painted pendants this resembles a small painting and as such it is surrounded by an ornate silver frame and hangs from an Italian silver chain. The portrait has been painstakingly covered with many layers of oil paint, egg tempura, gold foil, and lacquer to create the dramatic effect and signed in gold by the artist.  length: 20"  Pendant: 2.7"
