It’s September! For the Fashion industry that’s like January 1– the start of all things new after months of planning.
Here are a few exciting events to kickoff Fashion Week
I’m launching my new Autumn Glow Collection today. Inspired by my favorite season, it features 44 one-of-a-kind and limited edition pieces in hues of ruby, gold, emerald, indigo, merlot, and chocolate.
Fashion Week is on the move all over town. Things to watch for? After the Bryant Park-Lincoln Center years, Fashion Week has a new look and multiple venues. Two of the most exciting new spaces are Skylight at Moynihan Station, 360 West 33rd Street in the old Post Office and Skylight Clarkson Square 550 Washington Street in Soho. Modern and versatile, I can't wait to see what designers will do in these new raw spaces. But there are events all over the city. Keep an eye out for the latest street style as models, bloggers, editors and style icons travel all around the town.
Speaking of style icons, the one and only Anna Wintour will certainly be front row at Skylight and everywhere else fashion news is being made. I just got my copy of Vogue’s revered “September Issue” with Beyonce on this year's cover. It’s a mere 1-1/2” thick as opposed to their all time record of 5,” but vintage Wintour, everything you need to know about fall fashion.
If you haven't seen The September Issue, a hugely entertaining 2009 documentary showing the drama that follows Wintour and her staff as they create the ultimate fashion bible each September. check out this trailer and get the netflix dvd.
September is definitely the most exciting month in NY and we can't wait to see what happens.
