Jasperized Wood Pendant on Gunmetal Chain

I just discovered this amazing pendant with an asymmetrical shape and looking very old with gorgeous red and white stripes in the center. It hangs from an interesting double gunmetal chain. My best guess is that it's Jasperized Wood"
