Handpainted Russian Jewelry: Love Birds

This hand-painted lacquered miniature features two love birds underlit with luminous gold 24K foil. The black onyx pendant (1-1/2" x 1) has been painstakingly covered with many layers of oil paint, egg tempura, gold foil, and lacquer to create the dramatic effect and signed in gold by the artist.  The pendant, crowned with a 14K fluted rondel and 24K Swarovski crystal, hangs from a hand-knotted strand of Grade AA white pearls with topaz gold Venetian stations. 18"
